Walker Layne joins The Foundation For Tomorrow from North Carolina. In conjunction with the TFFT team, Walker intends to use his knowledge of the macroeconomic and global business environment to further the mission and resources of TFFT. He has made it his goal to spread the message and importance of TFFT in order to help provide QUALITY education to the million plus orphaned children in Tanzania.

After receiving a BS in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in 2001, Walker set out on his own goals to play professional golf. The next 2 1/2 yrs Walker spent playing on both the Hooters Tour and South American PGA Tour. Since then he has spent the past 5 years trading mortgage backed securities and working his way up the corporate ladder to VP at Vining Sparks in Charlotte, North Carolina. This fall (2008) he is embarking on a new challenge himself, as he will spend the next two years at Kennan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina working towards his MBA degree.

Walker grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina but was fortunate enough to explore the rest of the world through both work and travel. From leadership training with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) to South America and Sub-Saharan Africa explorations, Walker has witnessed poverty as well as recognizing his strengths and what he can do personally to improve the lives of others both at home and abroad. His hands on experience seeing what The Foundation For Tomorrow has done in northern Tanzania, coupled with his love for children and belief in the power of education spurred his commitment and drive to come on as a board member.

Walker comes to TFFT with previous finance experience but has and will continue to further his knowledge of the non-profit structure. His heart, skills and knowledge continue to be a significant asset in building The Foundation for Tomorrow.
