ROSERose (pronounced Rosie), 6 years old joined the TFFT Sponsorship Program in September when she was enrolled in Fikiria Kwanza Academy, in Usa River, Tanzania. She lost both of her parents to AIDS and she herself is infected with HIV. Prior to joining our program she stayed at Mama Nora’s Day Care Centre in neighboring village Makumira. Though orphaned, both of her grandparents are still alive: grandfather “Mzee Msafiri” and grandmother “Bibi Stella”. She hopes that an education will allow her to help her grandparents. She feels she is different from other kids because “with a good education I will be able to help others.” Rose likes to read because it improves her school work. Her favorite subject is math. She wants to be an accountant for Tanzania when she is older because she loves math class so much. During her free time Rose likes to jump rope, because she says, “ I feel it helps my body grow stronger.” This bright star of a six year old is so thrilled to be joining our program and we are thrilled to have her. She is a wonderful addition to our stellar group of students! To learn more about how you can effect positive change, please visit our TAKE ACTION page!
