 Meghann Hessert Gunderman As Executive Director at The Foundation for Tomorrow (TFFT), Meghann Gunderman brings extensive expertise in leading educational initiatives, and a global perspective. She believes that by using education to effect change, you are also empowering the future generations of the developing world. Meghann's efforts are primarily spent on developing and implementing clearly defined educational initiatives, to which The Foundation for Tomorrow can contribute on both a strategic and tactical level. Prior to founding TFFT, Meghann spent three summers researching and working in an orphanage in northern Tanzania. What she experienced touched her deeply. Filled with conviction to make a difference in the lives of these children, Meghann didn't waste any time getting started. While still in college, she raised tens of thousands of dollars to enhance the orphanage's barest facilities, helping to deliver a range of essentials so often taken for granted in the developed world: a washing machine, a power generator and even a water filter, to provide something as simple as safe drinking water for the orphanage's children and staff. Since 2004, Meghann has been instrumental in placing more than 20 African orphans in local boarding schools, ensuring that these children are raised in a safe living environment, enhancing their physical, emotional and intellectual growth. In November 2006, Meghann's dedication to African youth became a full time affair, when she founded TFFT. Her life is now embodied by a commitment to not only advance the education of African orphans, but to ensure a quality of education able to provide a prosperous future for the children of Africa's tomorrow. Meghann immediately embraced the development world and has hit the ground running with the support she needs to successfully implement effective programs in Tanzania and throughout Africa. She leads the strategic development and advancement of TFFT. Her vast knowledge of African development has greatly contributed to the understanding and insight of what TFFT has to offer. The Charlotte, NC native and New York City resident is leading The Foundation for Tomorrow on a day to day basis as its executive director and serves as a key liaison with many of the individual sponsors and potential donors. Preparation and implementation of presentations for new donors also fall under her direction. Prior to founding The Foundation for Tomorrow, Meghann lived and worked in New York City for Barclay's Capital Global Marketing and Sponsorship Division. She has also lived and worked in both the UK and Tanzania and is proficient in Kiswahili. She received her British Masters of Arts in International Relations and Human Geography (Development Studies) from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland with a specialization in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and also is an avid marathon runner.
