| Josh Nassari As Program Director at The Foundation For Tomorrow (TFFT), Josh Nassari brings experience working for international and local NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) as well as the intrinsic knowledge growing up in Tanzanian can bring an organization such as TFFT. Josh’s NGO experience focused on a variety of issues including health education and outreach, specifically HIV/AIDS, education, and community development. Prior to joining TFFT Josh received a BA in Sociology specializing in Public Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam. During University Josh was very involved in student government and served as the University of Dar Speaker for Student Parliament. Beyond Student Parliament Josh was active in several groups which focus on social justice, human rights, fighting corruption and advocacy. Throughout his time at University of Dar es Salaam and before joining TFFT Josh was the Country Office Manager for Amend.org, a non-profit committed to providing road safety programs to children in developing countries. Additionally he is the co-founder of the Tanzanian Laptop Cooperative. He also collaborated on projects with Pencils for Africa and Tupo International. These experiences have inspired Josh to work with TFFT and commit himself to helping children. Josh says he would like to remain on this path of advocacy and work for an organization dedicated to helping youth succeed. In fact Josh just recently got accepted into a Masters of Arts degree in Development Studies at the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague. He will begin this course in 2011 and major in children and youth studies, hoping to return to Tanzania and TFFT after he completes his degree. The Arusha native, is excited to be back in Northern Tanzania providing care for Tanzanian youth. |
